North East Student Fest 2019

My Home India is NGO working to create awareness about North East India and bridge the gap between the people of North East India and the rest of India.

My Home India on the eve of 94th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika organized “NEST.FEST-2019 at Weightlifting Auditorium, Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. This event was organised to welcome the freshers from North East India and giving them a life-long memory.

The prominent personalities like Ministers, MPs, MLAs marked their presence to welcome students from North East in Delhi.

The ” Guest of Honour” of this event was Kiren Rijiju, Minister of state. Speaking on the occasion Kirin Rijiju praised Mr. Sunil Deodhar (founder of My Home India) for his efforts and advised North East students to focus on studies and developing skills. Appealing everyone to visit Nort-East he said “those who have not seen North-east have not seen heart of India”. Thongam Biswajit Singh Teli, Sunil Deodhar (Founder of My Home India) and Dr Jitendra Singh were also present at the event.

Folk Dance of North East India was presented by young talents. The Tripuri dance was presented by students of Dayal Singh College. Bihu(Assam), Hajgiri(Tripura), Thang-ta and Dhol Cholom(Manipur), Nengkerem (Meghalaya), folk dances of Arunachal Pradesh, folk dances of Sikkim was also performed by North East students. Western dances were also performed by students of Deshbandhu College and Janaki Devi Memorial College.

Legendary singers, musicians, performers from North Eastern states such as Zublee Baruah, Guru Rewben Mashangwa, Mengu Suokhrie, Taba Chale, Bala Hijan, Angshuman Nandi also performed during NEST.FEST 2019.
