SFD INSTALLED WATER POTS FOR ANIMALS AND BIRDS IN JNU.
SFD (Students for Development) installed earthen water pots for animals and birds at various places in the university campus on 14th May. Students of JNU actively participated in the program. A total of 75 students participated in the program out of which 35 were girls.
There are 240 species of birds in JNU campus and out of 110 species of butterflies in Delhi, 80 species are found exclusively in JNU campus. Many birds die due to lack of water during the summer season. Animals and birds are seen licking the taps due to the depletion of natural sources of water which is extremely very painful sight.
SFD, JNU Convenor Nishant Vidyarthi said “According to Ayurvedic principles, harmony between the Panchmahabhutas is essential to maintain harmony in the environment and ecosystem. Therefore, the purpose of this campaign is to provide water for animals and birds. At the same time, there is also a need to create a Panchmahabhautik harmony.
SFD Co-Convener Swastik Behera added that “SFD has been organising programs like pond cleaning campaign, installation of earthen water pots for birds and plantation of herbal plants in JNU campus. During this summer, we have taken up a three-day campaign in which we have planned to install earthen pots at different places. In this campaign our activists will fill water regularly so that birds and animals do not face water crisis.”

एसएफडी (SFD) ने जेएनयू में पशु-पक्षियों हेतु किया जल प्रबंधन
एसएफडी (स्टूडेंट्स फ़ॉर डिवेलप्मेंट) ने दिनांक 14 मई को विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में मिट्टी के पात्रों को विभिन्न स्थानों पर रख कर पशु-पक्षियों के लिए पेयजल प्रबंधन किया। जेएनयू के विद्यार्थियों ने बढ़-चढ़कर कार्यक्रम में हिस्सा लिया। कार्यक्रम में कुल 75 विद्यार्थियों ने हिस्सा लिया जिनमे से 35 छात्राएँ थी।
आपको बताते चलें कि जेएनयू कैंपस में चिड़ियों की 240 प्रजातियां है और पूरी दिल्ली में तितलियों के 110 प्रजातियों में से 80 प्रजाति सिर्फ जेएनयू कैंपस में पाई जाती है। गर्मी के मौसम में पानी नहीं मिलने के कारण कई पक्षियों की मृत्यु हो जाती है। पानी की प्राकृतिक स्रोतों के खत्म हो जाने के कारण पशु और पक्षी नल को चाटते दिखते हैं जो बहुत ही दर्दनाक दृश्य होता है।
एसएफडी, जेएनयू संयोजक निशान्त विद्यार्थी ने जानकारी दी कि , “आयुर्वेदिक सिद्धांतो के हिसाब से पंचमहाभूतो के बीच में सामंजस्य रहने से पर्यावरण एवं पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र(ईकोसिस्टम) में सामंजस्य बना रहता है।अतः इस अभियान का उद्देश्य पशु पक्षी हेतु जल प्रबंधन करने के साथ ही साथ में पंचमहाभौतिक सामंजस्य बनाना भी है।”
एसएफडी सह संयोजक स्वास्तिक बहेरा ने कहा कि एसएफडी जेएनयू कैंपस में तालाब सफाई अभियान, पक्षियों के लिए पानी डालना एवं हर्बल पौधों का पौधारोपण जैसा अन्य कार्यक्रम करता आया है। गर्मी के मौसम में हम लोगों ने तीन दिवसीय अभियान लिया है जिसमें अलग-अलग जगह मिट्टी के पात्र रखने की योजना है। इस आभियान में हमारे कार्यकर्ता नियमित तौर पर पानी भरेंगे जिससे पक्षी और पशु को पानी की समस्या ना हो।
