From a realistic view of the international system: power is the measure of all things, and it is power that grants the hierarchy in it, the unchanging nature of international relations from its origins has been the quest for power, richness and prestige of the main geopolitical units and the dilemmas of the other minor political units that must choose between submission or resistance. But the theory of international relations as a discipline based on a new paradigm contradicts the realistic view as it states that an insubordinate theory that refuses to understand the world from the perspective of the hegemonic power centers.
The mutual consent between two or more nations to cooperate with one another, pool resources and share information as a way to face global issues that go beyond any particular country or region is considered to be international relations. Ministry of External Affairs also known as the Foreign Ministry, is the government agency responsible for the conduct of foreign relations among different nations.
Talking about hegemony without mentioning the tussle between the United States, Russia and China amongst them and the other countries is nefarious. Talking about the United States the Generalised System of Preference [GSP] is the largest and oldest United States trade preference program, established by the Trade Act of 1974. GSP is designed to promote economic development by eliminating duties on thousands of products when imported from on of designated beneficiary countries and territories. As per the executive director for Coalition for GSP Dan Anthony “without GSP benefits American small businesses will face a new tax that will result in job losses, cancelled investments and cost increases for consumers”
The tactics of foreign policy shows the urge of different nationals to be world power as good foreign relations provide strength, position and power at the global platform and the economic dominance over the world. For instance, the impromptu visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to the G-7 summit reflects the Iranian government ‘s priority for finding a way out of the current economic crash dive which is due to the imposition of American sanctions on Iran and as an initiative to continue trade relations with the European countries and to maintain the hegemony in West Asia. In the contemporary world every single nation is only intended to be the world power, above is one such example.
To achieve the ultimate goal [to be the superpower] is the utmost priority of any country. This is done through the combined means of economic economically influential, strong military ties, technological and cultural strength strong international alliances, diplomatic and softpower influence politically influential
