The JNU unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has accused the chairperson of the Center for Political Studies of shielding an accused in a sexual harassment case. The organisation has raised the demand for the resignation of the Chairperson. Along with this, he has also been accused of misleading the victim.
Let us tell you that in the past, on AISA activist Prasanna Raj, a serious allegation of sexual harassment was made by a student. The victim had informed the chairperson of her center about the incident 15 days ago. While giving assurance, the chairperson had also promised to put the matter in the faculty meeting. But even after 15 days no action was taken. It has also been accused that the chairperson leaked the details of complaint to the abuser.
ABVP JNU President Rohit Kumar said that “Chairperson is is supporting AISA activist Prasanna Raj. At the same time, the victim and her friends are being socially boycotted by the Left in the class which the chairperson is knowingly not taking any action. ABVP stands in solidarity with all survivors.”
Unit secretary Umesh Chandra Ajmeera said, “Two unfortunate incidents of sexual harassment by Leftists have come to light in JNU in the last few days. Left activists are involved in both the cases and prominent Left leaders like Aishe Ghosh, Swati Singh are openly defending and supporting the accused. AISA has not suspended the accused from their organisation. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the police administration need to take suo-motu action on these cases.”

अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद की जेएनयू इकाई ने सेंटर फॉर पॉलिटिकल स्टडीज के चेयरपर्सन पर यौन उत्पीडन के मामले में आरोपी को बचाने का आरोप लगाया है। विद्यार्थी परिषद ने चेयरपर्सन के इस्तीफे की मांग उठाई है। साथ में उन पर पीड़िता को गुमराह करने का भी आरोप लगाया है।
आपको बता दें कि पिछले दिनों आइसा के कार्यकर्ता प्रसन्ना राज पर एक छात्रा ने यौन उत्पीडन का गंभीर आरोप लगाया था। पीड़िता ने 15 दिन पहले अपने सेंटर के चेयरपर्सन को इस घटना के बारे में बताया था। चेयरपर्सन ने आश्वासन देते हुए फैकल्टी मीटिंग में बात रखने का वादा भी किया था । पर 15 दिन के बाद भी कोई कार्यवायी नही की गई।
एबीवीपी जेएनयू अध्यक्ष रोहित कुमार ने कहा कि “चेयरपर्सन आइसा कार्यकर्ता प्रसन्ना राज का साथ दे रहे हैं। साथ ही वामपंथियों द्वारा पीड़िता एवं उसके दोस्तों को पूरे क्लास में सामाजिक बहिष्कार किया जा रहा है जिसमें सेंटर चेयर पर्सन जानते हुए भी कोई कदम नहीं उठा रहे हैं। विद्यार्थी परिषद यौन उत्पीड़न की पीड़िताओं के साथ कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर साहस, संबल और साथ देने के लिए तैयार है।”
इकाई मंत्री उमेश चंद्र अजमीरा ने कहा “वामपंथियों द्वारा यौन उत्पीडन की जेएनयू में पिछले कुछ दिनों में दो दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण घटनाएं सामने आईं हैं। दोनों मामलों में वामपंथी कार्यकर्ता शामिल है और प्रमुख वामपंथी नेता जैसे की आयशी घोष, स्वाति सिंह उनका बचाव करने में भरपूर सहयोग दे रहे हैं। आंतरिक शिकायत समिति(आईसीसी) और पुलिस प्रशासन को स्वतः संज्ञान लेते हुए इन पर तुरंत कार्यवाही करने की आवश्यकता है।
