Holocaust day observed by Kashmiri Youth Movement

On 14th September, Kashmiri Pandit Holocaust day was observed by the Kashmiri Youth Movement(KYM), a student network of Kashmiris born post exodus of 1990 at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place. The programme began with the recitation of the Sanskrit Vandana Gauri Stuti. It was then followed by a quick interactive session with the audience that ended with the showcasing of a short video clip about the stories of exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits. Then there was numerous performances like poem recitation, singing and life painting. One of the performers was rapper AADI B from Jamshedpur. The event concluded with a speech by guest speakers Anshul Saxena, a social activist and Advocate Yashraj Bundela and declaring of live art painting results in which top three paintings were awarded. Mehak, Abhigyan and Rahul, students from Department of Fine Arts Jamia Millia Islamia stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. As a final statement from the KYM team, Rahul Kaul Vakil told the Campus Chronicle that the Kashmiri Youth Movement aims to strengthen the democratic institutions and empower the civil society in Jammu & Kashmir.
